Lots of new details from the upcoming Star Wars The Mandalorian and Grogu feature film have been revealed through new unit still photos and data released by Disney.
A selection of new images, ones seen in the recent Empire Magazine issue, have been published in full resolution on the Walt Disney hub within Getty Images. These were spotted by Twitter user @CobaltGreen1138.
Imperial Warlord Name Reveal
In that Empire Magazine issue, the writer and director of The Mandalorian and Grogu, Jon Favreau gave a small tease for the film to go along with an image of an imperial warlord played by Jonny Coyne. Favreau said “You’ll like his character name when you hear it”. Now we know his name thanks to this Getty gallery and it is not the one listed on IMDB which appears to have been a codename.
The caption for the image above says (L-R) Lord Janu (Jonny Coyne) and Hogsbreth (Matthew Willig). This confirms the character seen in the Shadow Council and this film is now named as Lord Janu plus the new character beside him is Hogsbreth.
We decided to delve deeper. The photo’s metadata also contains a list of characters, actors, words all relating to the photo which you can find below:

Based on this, Lord Janu was called Janu Coin during production. He will be seated with his parrot in a Luxury Viewing Box for the arena where we’ll see gladiator fights involving Rotta the Hutt and Mando taking place. The Pits seems to be the name of the arena. The planet or area looks to be named Sequoia or at least it was during production.
Escaping On The Streets
Based on the metadata below, this scene where our two heroes escape the arena via the Sequoia streets was shot in The Volume. Brendan Wayne was the performer in the beskar armour here.
