A bunch of new Star Wars Zero Company information has been released as part of a hands-on impressions session with games media. From deeper Clone Wars connections to non-combat experiences, fans excited for this game will be pleased to hear this extra set of details.
In a new PCGames.de article, the outlet visited Bit Reactor at their Maryland-based office where they got to play the game and learn more about it. For Star Wars fans, the story is one of the most important part of the video games and now we have some key details on what exactly is happening at the time of this title in canon.
Story Background
After causing trouble for the Republic and owing debts to the Hutts, Zero Company leader Hawks is tasked with dirty work. He is to have Zero Company infiltrate a Separatist-linked cult: The Infinite Coil. Led by Kundri Fathom, a the group are set on releasing the “Shadow Plague” into the galaxy. Coil members have been infected with it already offering them “peculiar” abilities. The Coil’s soldiers are commanded by Visser and the Super Tactical Droid Typhon will aid them on their desires.
Canon Timeline
We learned last year that the game was set during “twilight” of the Clone Wars. However, many fans have speculated it could feature large events that took place in the early years. That will not be the case. Bit Reactor told PCGames.de that Zero Company’s is canonically set during 20 BBY (the same year as the events that took place on Mortis) . This is 1 year before the end of the Clone Wars and the events of Revenge of the Sith. This still means there will be important moments during the war taking place in and around this game. It will even be something you can feel in real time…
The galactic news will be able to be heard from within your base of operations. War updates will be provided as you progress through the story. This is a small thing but will certainly add to the immersion.

Feels Like Home
Speaking of The Den, the aforementioned article contained additional details on what can be done in the hub. You fallen squadmates will get marked into a memorial wall plus the infirmary is ran by your pilot M-3VO who also doubles as a medic. The shop is a black market vendor meanwhile the base and squad upgrades are found within terminals.
Same goes for customisation which goes as far as 4 different times of R series droids. We already knew of R2 and R4 series units in the game but R3 had B-R1’s have been confirmed. The latter is a new droid type that was crafted by Bit Reactor for this game. Each droid will feature differences in their abilities and personalities.
Additionally, Dee Bradley Baker is back voicing clones such as Trick meanwhile Matt Wood reprises his role as the various battle droids. A nice surprise consultant is Terryl Whitlatch. Best known for her work in coming up with many iconic aliens and creatures such as Jar Jar Binks and Sebulba in The Phantom Menace, Whitlatch helped the team design new ones for Zero Company. This makes sense given brand new planets were also confirmed to feature in this game.
