Possible leaks for Fortnite reveals major Star Wars collaboration; LEGO, C3PO, Death Trooper, Chewbacca

Last night an image claiming to be a roadmap for Fortnite’s entire year appear online. The ‘leak’ showcased future upcoming seasons for Fortnite’s battle royale mode as well their more recently introduced modes Fortnite Festival, LEGO and Rocket Racing. Today another leak has supposedly sprung and this one pertains to the games LEGO mode and a Star Wars collaboration.

In an image shared by Jorge Most on X, we see a piece of artwork featuring LEGO Star Wars characters that are currently not in the game – Death Trooper, Chewbacca, C3PO and a Yavin IV Rebel sentry. The background of the piece also shows X-Wings and TIE fighters, though it’s unclear if these would be vehicles in the LEGO mode or if it’s just part of some cinematic that would be present in the game. Within the image you can also see a blue lightsaber, which could possibly hint at lightsabers coming to the LEGO mode for the first time ever. It would remain to be seen if lightsabers appearing in LEGO Fortnite would be permanent or as part of a limited time Star Wars event, which I think would be more likely. Fortnite usually add lightsabers to their battle royale mode as limited time weapons when they have a Star Wars collaboration in effect.

The leaker of the image, Jorge Most, claims that the image he posted featuring what I listed above is just a fragment of a larger image which he was asked not to share. The X user added that they have no idea if the image is actually real.

As mentioned, last night a content roadmap for Fortnite’s 2024 appeared online. The image appeared on 4chan (I know) and featured an image of a LEGO Star Destroyer above a desert area. The roadmap had this image under the May window, which is when the next Star Wars and Fortnite collaboration is due to start. Fortnite announced earlier this week that their next Star Wars event would begin on the third of May in celebration of Star Wars day which is May the fourth.

The 4chan roadmap leak also contained the line-up for Fortnite Festival’s seasonal artists which included Billie Eilish for the season that begins next week, though it’s been rumoured/speculated for some time, with follow up artists in order being Metallica, Karol G and Snoop Dogg. The seasons in-order for Fornite’s Battle Royale mode would be an apocalyptic themed season which would be the next season and would feature collaborations with Metallica, Fall Guys and Pirates of the Caribbean, the following season would be Fantastic Four based – there were reports in the past regarding a Fantastic Four collaboration, with the last two seasons featuring a return for Fortnite: Chapter Two and the start of a sixth chapter of the mode.

It’s been rumoured for quite some time that Chewbacca would be coming to Fortnite for the Star Wars event that begins on May 3rd after the characters Bowcaster was reported by data-miners to be added as a limited time weapon during that period. Typically when a characters weapon is added, the character is also added as a skin. The same data-miners also mentioned that a new Leia Organa skin would be added with speculation being it is based off of her adventure skin that was seen in both Star Wars: Battlefront II and in various comic books. It was also reported that John Williams’ Cantina Band track was going to be added to Fortnite Festival.

The LEGO leak would point to a Chewbacca skin coming to the game as well as C3PO, the Rebel Sentry and Death Trooper being added. Fortnite skins have both battle royale and LEGO variants, meaning skins wouldn’t be exclusive to the LEGO mode, just that the LEGO mode would have a variant of a battle royale skin.

Fortnite’s publisher, Epic Games, have yet to comment on either reported leak. The next Star Wars event in Fortnite begins on May 3rd. The two ‘leaks’ can be viewed here (LEGO) and here (roadmap).
