Lucasfilm and Disney have officially revealed via a press release which episodes the directors of Ahsoka will helm.

Dave Filoni, the series creator and executive producer of the ‘MandoVerse’ series such as The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, both of those series mentioned he directed on – The Mandalorian season one episodes one and five, season two episode five and The Book of Boba Fett season one episode six. Just as he did with The Mandalorian, Dave Filoni will direct both the first episode of Ahsoka along with the fifth.
Steph Green who’s previously directed on high profile series such as HBO’s Watchmen, Billions, The Americans, The Deuce and season one episode two of The Book of Boba Fett – arguably the best episode of the season. Green returns to the Star Wars universe and will direct two episodes of the highly anticipated Ahsoka series, stepping behind the camera to direct episodes two and three of the season.
Peter Ramsey, the director who’s more than likely best known for directing Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has been stepping into live-action projects in more recent years, directing the Netflix mini-series Lost Ollie and episode five of The Mandalorian season three. Ramsey continues his work in a galaxy far, far away and directed the fourth episode of the Ahsoka series.
Jennifer Getzinger is a veteran of TV work, directing on high profile series such as Mad Men, Daredevil, Westworld, Jessica Jones, How to Get Away with Murder, Suits and Desperate Housewives just to name a handful, but the list goes on with even more prominent titles. Getzinger will be helming the sixth episode of Ahsoka and it might be one to watch out for given Getzinger’s pedigree.
Geeta Vasant Patel is probably best known for directing the eighth episode of House of the Dragon season one, one of the most celebrated and critically acclaimed of that season, which is likely why she’s returning to the series to handle two more episodes next season. Aside from Thrones, Patel has also directed episodes of Superstore, The Mindy Project, The Great, Dead to Me and Santa Clarita Diet. Patel will handle just one episode of Ahsoka this season and that episode is the season’s penultimate episode, episode seven.
The season finale of Ahsoka will be directed by a name very, very familiar to Star Wars fans, especially those who have been following the ‘MandoVerse’ series. Rick Famuyiwa who directed episodes two and six of The Mandalorian’s first season, episode seven of Mando’s second season and episodes one, seven and eight of The Mandalorian’s third. Some of Famuyiwa’s episodes of The Mandalorian are often ones most celebrated and the director has been seen in a very positive light by Mando creator Jon Favreau and Mando executive prodcuer Dave Filoni, who gave Famuyiwa a more prominent role on The Mandalorian by promoting the director to an executive producer role, overseeing the third season when Favurea and Filoni were busy with other projects including Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew. Filoni has once again shown his faith in Famuyiwa by selecting the director to be the man behind the camera for the season finale, episode eight.
Ahsoka premieres exclusively on Disney+ on August 23rd with a two episode premiere.
