Star Wars: Ahsoka rumor; Marrok’s identity to be revealed in episode 4

We’re just a handful of days away from the next episode of Ahsoka, but according to a new online rumour, the identity of the mysterious villain, Marrok, will be revealed in the upcoming fourth episode of the series.

Before we continue with news of the day, I’d just like to share that you can support my work in two ways for which I’d be extremely grateful. Firstly it’s via my newly created Patreon page which has a two tier’s at this time – one to simply to support my work and a second which features ad-free articles. Secondly you can tip me with a simple one off payment on my Ko-Fi page or you can choose to support my work monthly on the platform. I’d truly appreciate it if you decided to support my work, but no pressure, I know things are pretty tough out here. Anyway, back to the reason you came here – the news!

This week a Reddit user shared tidbits from the third episode of Ahsoka ahead of its release, this included the space battle and Morgan Elsbeth using the Eye of Sion to shoot down Ahsoka Tano’s ship which also had Huyang and Sabine Wren on board. Though the ship was actually shot down, it was just incapacitated briefly with Ahsoka fending of Shin Hati and her squadron as Sabine rushed to get the ship working again. So whilst the wording is seemingly wrong, it featured an accurate tidbit of the Eye of Sion shooting the ship.

In now deleted comments, the Reddit user that shared the episode three information ahead of its release, the user claims that the identity of Marrok, the mysterious mercenary and former Inquisitor working alongside Baylan Skoll, Shin Hati and Morgan Elsbeth, will be revealed during the fourth episode of Ahsoka which is due to premiere exclusively on Disney this coming Tuesday at 6PM PT.

Unfortunately the Reddit user did not share any additional details on Marrok or their identity, but we don’t have long to wait to find out just who is under that mask. One deleted comment by the user mentioned a character being made of smoke, but it’s unclear if they were referring to Marrok. Some fans have speculated that it’s a version of Sam Witwer’s Star Wars legends character, Starkiller, as Ahsoka showrunner Dave Filoni previously toyed with the idea of having Starkiller be an Inquisitor. Witwer has also been credited for additional voices in Ahsoka. Other theories included Marrok being Ezra Bridger, the lead of Star Wars: Rebels who our heroes are hoping to rescue from the unknown galaxy in which he and Grand Admiral Thrawn are trapped in, and another theory being that Marrok is a clone of Bridger – I think both of these Bridger theories are highly unlikely.

From what we can gather from footage released for Ahsoka, we assume that episode four will feature Marrok duelling Ahsoka Tano on Seatos, the planet featuring red leaf tree’s which Ahsoka, Sabine and Huyang landed on at the end of episode three, with Sabine having her second confrontation with Shin Hati on the planet also. We know little else about the episode, but that it’s runtime seems to be 42 minutes with credits (likely closer to 39/40 without credits, intro and recap). Given the runtime, I’m left to wonder if we’ll see the long awaited duel between Ahsoka Tano and Baylan Skoll, you’d assume this is the episode the fight seen in various pieces of promotional material would fit, especially given about what we know of episode five (which you can read here). One thing I’ve heard from a singular source is that the fourth episode would end on a cliffhanger, perhaps that’s Ahsoka losing the fight to Baylan and where our hero is left or in what condition, or possibly the cliffhanger is Ahsoka stepping up to confront Baylan – this all just mere speculation.
