Star Wars: Ahsoka runtimes for episode 1 and episode 2 revealed

The individual runtimes for the first two episodes of the upcoming Ahsoka series has been revealed via a reliable source.

Before we continue with news of the day, I’d just like to share that you can support my work in two ways for which I’d be extremely grateful. Firstly it’s via my newly created Patreon page which has a two tier’s at this time – one to simply to support my work and a second which features ad-free articles. Secondly you can tip me with a simple one off payment on my Ko-Fi page or you can choose to support my work monthly on the platform. I’d truly appreciate it if you decided to support my work, but no pressure, I know things are pretty tough out here. Anyway, back to the reason you came here – the news!

Last week, X user, Cryptic HD Quality, who has been very reliable in the past in sharing runtimes for upcoming Star Wars, Marvel and many for TV series in the past, shared that the first two episodes of Ahsoka had a combined total runtime of 1 hour and 36 minutes. The user shared that they got this information regarding the runtimes through press screenings. It seems that Cryptic has now received updated information regarding the two episode premiere of the series.

Cryptic HD Quality took to X and shared that the first episode of Ahsoka boasts a runtime of 54 minutes and 21 seconds with credits beginning at 51 minutes. The second episode comes in twelve minutes shorter than it’s predecessor at 42 minutes and 15 seconds with credits picking up at the 38 minute mark. The two episodes are around the ball park of most episodes of The Mandalorian, particularly the second episode of Ahsoka. Previously it was mentioned by the series creator of Ahsoka and executive producer of The Mandalorian, Dave Filoni, that the Ahsoka series would have runtimes similar to that of The Mandalorian season three, if not a tad longer which seems to be true given the leaked runtimes.

I’m sure many fans will kick up a fuss about the second episode of Ahsoka will consist of just 38 minutes of content as it holds 3 minutes of credits. It’s also not mentioned, but there’s a chance an episode one recap is included in the runtime, which has been common practice in the Star Wars Disney+ series and this would bring the minutes of new content below 38 minutes. I personally don’t care if an episode is thirty minutes or sixty minutes, as long as it does the story justice and the pacing is correct. Perhaps some fans feel as if they’re getting more bang for their buck if an episode is longer, but if it’s at the expense of its pacing and storytelling then it’s failed at that notion if you were to ask me.

Thank you for reading the article and if you enjoyed your read, or if you’re a regular reader of Bespin Bulletin then I kindly ask if you’d consider showing your support and appreciation by tipping me via my Ko-Fi page here, each tip is deeply appreciated or supporting my work via my newly launched Patreon page here. Being passionate about Star Wars led to the beginning of Bespin Bulletin in 2019. The goal was to create a publication for well-sourced information and add insights not found elsewhere for fans. So far, many exclusive stories have been published by Bespin. This has paved a long, reputable track record. Large outlets such as IGN have sourced the Bulletin's reporting.
