    UPDATE – April 19th, 2023 @ 14:50pm BST.

Just a few days ago it was reported that Andor season two was setting up shop at the Winspit Quarry located in Dorest. The location was previously used in the critically acclaimed series first season, acting as the base for Forest Whitaker’s Saw Gerrera. Filming was due to begin at the quarry this week or next, with sign’s informing locals that the area would be closed off to the public until April 29th.

DorsetLive are now reporting that filming in Winspit Quarry has been cancelled due to safety concerns. Dorset recently experienced turbulent weather which has increased the risk of landslides and rockfalls at the quarry and are urging members of the public to avoid the area until surveys have been carried out to asses to location. It remains unknown at this time if the Andor season two production will return at a later date to film the planned scenes.

    ORIGINAL ARTICLE

Filming on the second season of the Star Wars series, Andor, continues as the production has returned to a location used in season one of the series. The location in question is the Winspit Quarry in Dorset, England, a location used in season one as the hideout for Forest Whitaker’s Saw Gerrera and his Rebel extremist group, the Partisans, which Stellan Skarsgård’s Luthen Rael visited.

No pictures have been taken at the location due to strict security in the area, but the set up is currently underway at the location, with filming due to begin later this month at the Quarry. Currently there is signage posted around the area informing locals that the area will be closed off to the public from April 12th until April 29th. Swanage News is reporting that the production crew have begun setting up a base for the actors and crew members in a field in Acton near Langton Matravers.

If you’ve been following me for a decent amount of time then you’d have read various time to look out for pink signs with certain letters on them as they are related to specific Star Wars productions. Not all pink signs are Star Wars related, they’re common practice for film and television productions, and I’ve seen various social media users and Reddit users follow random pink signs to productions unrelated to Star Wars simply because they saw and followed a link sign. If you’re in areas near the Winspit Quarry, look out for pink signs with the letters EE. You’ll see variations of these signs such as EE, EE LOC, EE CREW CARS and EE BASE, all of these are for Andor and stand for E&E Productions Limited. In relation to Andor, another word you should be looking out for is Pilgrim, the codename of the series. Pilgrim or variations of it wont be posted on pink signs, but it’ll be used by crew members. I recommend readers hoping to get a glimpse at the set and possibly actors present might want to get a move on as Andor filmed at the location in May of 2021 for just three days.

The only other Star Wars production in the United Kingdom currently is The Acolyte, which has also been shooting around the U.K. for several months, including the Brecon Beacons in Wales which I exclusively reported and revealed that pink signs in relation to the production sport the letters PDX, which stands for Paradox, the codename of the series. The Acolyte is currently still filming, and will do so until sometime next month, so if you see any pink signs with the letter PDX printed on them, it may be worth a follow.

Andor season two will release in August of 2024, and filming on the series will conclude in August of this year. Season one of the critically acclaimed series is currently streaming on Disney+.
