Star Wars Starfighter is continuing to shape up as many fans’ most anticipated project due to the new details coming out about it. Next year’s Star Wars blockbuster wrapped filming at the end of last year and whilst little plot points are known, the feeling from what cast and crew have said has a spark which we have not seen in some time. Now we have another cast member beaming with positivity about what we’ll see next year.
British actor Daniel Ings was announced to be part of the film’s cast when Lucasfilm confirmed the film entered production last August. His role within the film has so far been kept well under wraps. However, in a new interview with ScreenRant, Ings told the outlet a few details on what he did in the film.
Working With Gosling And Levy
According to the actor, the majority of his acting was done with Ryan Gosling. So that confirms these two characters will spend most of Ings’ screen time together. He adds Gosling was “playful” and “hunting for interesting moments”.
The same can be said for the movie’s director Shawn Levy. Ings recalls nervously reading his parts of the script with Levy due to the pressure of it being Star Wars. The director helped remove the nerves by being “inherently playful” and create a working environment in which the cast and crew can “bounce off each other and find things in the moment”.
Feeling Positive About The Film

“I loved it, so I felt excellent about it.”
In terms how the film felt, Daniel said that it has “sort of punk feel to it”. The film’s set was full of hundreds of people in costumes along with droids “rolling around” and animatronic heads. He was also quizzed on the film’s ending which Levy revealed recently he changed. Ings said he “felt great. I felt tremendous about it. I f*cking loved it. I got nothing to add there. I got nothing, no issues for me.”
In other recent Star Wars Starfighter news, the film’s lead Ryan Gosling revealed why he decided to take on the role of being a Star Wars star man here. Plus, a new report revealed Disney’s internal feelings towards the film. Some sources have said Gosling’s performance is a standout and think this film really has the feeling of Star Wars to win audiences over. Star Wars Starfighter will appear in cinemas and on IMAX screens from May 28th 2027.
