Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi leaked via Lucasfilm crew gifts

An unknown Star Wars projected dubbed, Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, featured on a Lucasfilm crew gift has appeared on Imgur.

On Imgur a series of images featuring an official crew Holidays gift given to members of Lucasfilm featuring a vinyl record player inside of a suitcase. The most interesting thing about the gift is the packaging where the title Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi can be seen. Tales of the Jedi is on one side along with The Bad Batch, Willow and Star Wars: Visions, whereas the opposing side features The Book of Boba Fett, Andor, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Indiana Jones 5.

At this time it is unclear if Tales of the Jedi takes inspiration from the Dark Horse comic books of the same name which released from 1993 until 1998 and were set during the Old Republic era, with six of the eight books taking place during the great Sith war and primarily focused on Jedi turned Sith, Ulic Qel-Droma and his love interest, Nomi Sunrider. However the logo is striking similar, if not the same as the one used by the Dark Horse comics. Just last month it was announced that Dark Horse were producing a new line of comics and graphic novels in a galaxy far, far away and a reprint of the original series is due to release next year.

Given that Tales from the Jedi sits among projects of live action and animation, it’s more than likely that Tales is a series of some kind with the likelihood being animated given production on the live-action projects have been well documented. Perhaps with development ongoing with Knights of the Old Republic Remake, Lucasfilm are using Tales to build up to the release and to acquaint new fans or those unfamiliar with the Old Republic. There’s also a chance, and in my opinion a greater chance, that with Lucasfilm’s push of the High Republic, that the era could be the focus of this series – after all we are also getting a video game set during the High Republic as well as multiple novels and comic books, along with The Acolyte in 2023 which is set at the tail end of the era.

Personally I’d be really excited to revisit those stories from Dark Horse in animation form and I’d love to revisit the Old Republic era. However I’m personally keeping my expectations extremely low as I am of the belief that this will likely be tied to the High Republic.
