In just under ten weeks, the first new Star Wars movie to release in cinemas in seven years will be upon us in the form of The Mandalorian and Grogu, a film written and directed by Jon Favreau, the creator of the hit Disney+ series which the movie is a follow up to.
More details for the film arrive with each passing week thanks to new promotional material such as footage from TV spots, trailers and interviews. Earlier this week the WGA website revealed that Favreau was alone in writing duties for the feature film with Lucasfilm co-president, Dave Filoni and Noah Kloor listed as co-writers. Filoni helped Favreau write the original The Mandalorian series and Kloor co-wrote every single episode of The Book of Boba Fett series alongside Jon Favreau.
Yesterday we wrote about an exclusive The Mandalorian and Grogu behind the scenes featurette being shown exclusively at Odeon cinemas, a United Kingdom cinema chain, with said featurette only being attached to select IMAX screenings — we wrote a description of what is apparently being shown.
Run Time Listed
Today we’re writing about Odeon cinemas once again as the theatre chain might have revealed the runtime for The Mandalorian and Grogu over two months ahead of its release.
According to a listing on Odeon’s website, The Mandalorian and Grogu has a run time of two hours and twenty minutes. Now, this could simply be a placeholder runtime, which has happened in the past and it’s certainly something to consider and keep an eye on.

However, the runtime does fall in line with most Star Wars movies. It would also make it one of the longer Star Wars films only bested by The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. It is also equal to Revenge of the Sith. You can find all of the Star Wars run times below:
- Star Wars: A New Hope – 2 hours 5 mins
- Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back – 2 hours 7 mins
- Star Wars: Return of the Jedi – 2 hours 16 mins
- Star Wars: The Phantom Menace – 2 hours 16 mins
- Star Wars: Attack of the Clones – 2 hours 22 mins
- Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith – 2 hours 20 mins
- Star Wars: The Force Awakens – 2 hours 15 mins
- Star Wars: The Last Jedi – 2 hours 33 mins
- Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – 2 hours 22 mins
- Rogue One: A Star Wars Story – 2 hours 13 mins
- Solo: A Star Wars Story – 2 hours 15 mins
We’ll be sure to keep readers updated with the runtime if it change as it might simply be a placeholder as we previously mentioned.
The Mandalorian and Grogu races into theatres on May 22nd, 2026.
