Tickets for Star Wars The Mandalorian and Grogu have finally gone on sale. In a little over a month, the film will blast into cinema and IMAX screens worldwide. In the past, Disney opened up ticket sales around two months before the sequel trilogy set of films whereas Rogue One and Solo a few weeks before release and Mando follows a similar strategy.
Lucasfilm and Disney announced on Thursday that tickets for this film would go on sale at 6am PT on Friday April 17th in the United States. Please note that some local chains may be taking presales at a different earlier time or later date. It will vary per region. Be sure to check with your local cinema to see when they will be taking pre-sales for the film.
The film is being released in 2D, 3D and IMAX. Speaking of which, during last night’s Mandalorian and Grogu segment of Disney’s CinemaCon presentation, the director of the movie and creator of The Mandalorian series, Jon Favreau, confirmed a detail fans should take into consideration when looking to book their tickets. The flick will feature over 49 minutes of expanded aspect ratio sequences; so more than a third of the film based on the runtime which we reported on here.
A new poster and trailer was also released alongside the ticket announcement.

Fans have been desperate to book their seat for Star Wars’ return to the big screen after almost seven years which it’s soon upon us. Viewers of the Disney plus series are extremely excited to see the characters they know and love make their big screen debut and mark a return to action after almost three years.
As always with a new movie release, it is an exciting time to Be a Star Wars fan. We can’t wait to see where Din Djarin and Grogu go on their next adventure. Thankfully we only have to wait five weeks.
Last night, some fans and critics were able to watch nearly 20 minutes of the film behind closed doors. You can check out a description of it here.
Last week we reported on early box office predictions for the film. The initial estimates have it open below what Solo: A Star Wars Story did back in 2018. This would make it the weakest opening for a Star Wars film in the Disney era.
