Excitement for Star Wars The Mandalorian and Grogu has “surged” among consumers in recent weeks. That’s according to a new report that asked people which upcoming piece of entertainment are they most interested in right now.
Provided by Screen Engine/ASI via The Wrap (paywalled), a new study has found Star Wars The Mandalorian and Grogu to be the most interesting thing in upcoming entertainment to a selection of consumers. It has risen to 4.74% of all mentions by consumers.
This is continuous growth week on week. It tops the chart ahead of The Devil Wears Prada 2, Michael, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and more. All of these films were out/closer to coming out by the time this data was taken.
The data was collected on the week of May 2nd through 8th. Star Wars Day, May 4th, was included in this week so naturally some growth in excitement will have come from that. Furthermore, this study was conducted just two weeks away from the film’s release. It is also the first Star Wars film in nearly 7 years.
A report like this is done every single week. The data comes from over a thousand media consumers. They are asked “What is the thing they are most interested in watching or playing in the next month or so?” It will be interesting to see how it fairs over the next few weeks as the data comes in for its release week.
What do you think to the growing excitement? Let us know down in the comments section below. The Mandalorian and Grogu releases next Friday, May 22nd in cinemas and IMAX screens worldwide.
