We’re a little over a month away from the release of Star Wars The Mandalorian and Grogu and more details are trickling out about it. Whilst today (at the time of writing) is April Fool’s this story is coming from a legitimate source and it gives us details involving two characters in the film.
Posted on March 31st and spotted by Twitter (currently know as X) user @Mando3Updates, an article from UK cinema chain Odeon has provided us a couple of new details about next month’s Star Wars film. It lists details that most of us already know about Din Djarin, Grogu, Colonel Ward, Zeb and Rotta the Hutt but there is a brand new tidbit involving an Imperial warlord played by Jonny Coyne and Dave Filoni’s Trapper Wolf.
Last week, we reported how images published by Disney contained metadata that revealed Jonny Coyne’s character’s name. The Imperial warlord and Shadow Council member is called Lord Janu. This is the only current piece of media that has included his name so far.
An Unexpected Matchup
According to Odeon, Trapper Wolf and Lord Janu are “rival fighter aces”. This leads to a “dogfight-to-end-all-dogfights” with “someone is going down”. We should not be too surprised that the co-writer of the film has his character being involved. That said, the pair being rival pilots is a bit unexpected.

Just a few days ago, the press content kicked off with a short video featuring brand new footage plus cast and crew talking about the film. Check out all of the new film clips here. The Mandalorian and Grogu launches into theatres and IMAX screens worldwide on May 22nd.
