Star Wars Zero Company spoilers have begun leaking online. Zero Company is just days away from release but the street date has been broken. If you want to go in blind, be careful as cutscenes are being posted on social media already.
This is a separate incident to the one that we reported on previously. Last week, game journalists reviewing the game had been uploading video clips from the game as they were playing through it. None of the videos showed anything spoiler related but it was a bit of a caution ahead of this game’s launch. The videos were later removed and that hole had been plugged by EA. Also, the achievement/trophy list does not contain big spoilers either.
Something EA can’t stop though are people who already have got the game disc in their hands. Based on posts across social media, some retailers such as Amazon in various regions have broken the street date. Copies of zero company were delivered on Monday. That’s a few days earlier than the game’s release date.
The key part here is that the game is fully playable on disc before launch. Lucky social media users who received their copy already showed proof that they were playing the game early. Whilst some fans only uploaded look at character customisation and other non-spoilery things, campaign cutscenes have also surfaced. One 19 minute video shows the opening cutscene to the game set on Coruscant near the senate building and the initial tutorial and post-tutorial cutscene.
As the days go on, these people will get further through the game. More people will likely receive their copies through the mail early too. This is a recipe for disaster. Unless EA have a very strong stance on copyright takedowns, You may have to be cautious browsing social media in Star Wars spaces. It’s about to get juicy.
In other related news, reviews for the game will drop on Wednesday. This is a bit late with reviews for other titles, ones with more confidence in them, being published at an earlier time. The leaked footage from reviewers showed several large graphical issues. It’s possible the overall reception is fantastic but it is just something to keep in mind. Publishers do this for a reason.
