Stormtroopers with reforged white and gold armour led by Thrawn will feature in Star Wars: Ahsoka

Hello there, and happy new year! Before we delve into with the article, I kindly ask for you to consider showing your support and appreciation for my work by tipping me via my Ko-Fi page here. Tips are quite rare around these parts, but I assure you no matter how big or small, each tip is deeply appreciated. Now, let’s get on with the news!

We’ve officially stepped into 2023, a year that’s set to bring Star Wars fans many exciting projects including the highly anticipated third season of The Mandalorian, and the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order follow up, Jedi: Survivor. In addition, one of the most exciting Disney+ shows, Ahsoka, is set to debut sometime this year and will act as a successor to the beloved Star Wars: Rebels series. Over the last couple of months, more and more rumours have slipped out regarding the series, and today a new rumour has reared its head.

According to MakingStarWars.net, a large number of Stormtroopers have been destroyed in the series, with their armour obliterated. However it seems the Stormtroopers become reanimated with their armour fixed in a similar way to Kylo Ren’s mask in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Kylo’s helmet was reforged and held together with blood red veins made from Sarrassian iron. This procedure in The Rise of Skywalker was inspired by Kintsugi, a Japanese art which see’s broken valuables such as antiques fixed with gold or silver to mend the broken pieces, and put the item back together. Unlike Ren’s mask, the Stormtroopers armour will be held together by golden veins, once again seemingly being inspired by the Kintsugi tradition.

MSW speculates that perhaps these troopers are brought back to life with their armour fixed by a variation of Nightsisters in the ‘new beyond’, but once again, this is merely speculation. These troopers supposedly serve Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) and will also take orders from Baylon (Ray Stevenson), Thrawn’s second in command and former Jedi, and they’re led into battle by Baylon’s apprentice, Shin, played by Ivanna Sakhno. The primary objective of Thrawn and the troopers is to hunt down Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi), Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) and our titular hero, Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson).

Ahsoka is sounding more and more interesting with each passing report, and is swiftly becoming one of my most anticipated Star Wars projects this year. Seeing the return of the Ghost Crew, Hayden Christensen back in action, exploring the world between worlds, and seeing what threats reside in the new beyond is surely enough to get any fan excited.
