Star of the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series, Sung Kang has revealed that his character in the wields a lightsaber amid rumours that he is playing an Inquisitor in the upcoming Disney+ title.
Sung Kang (F9: The Fast Saga) revealed during an interview that his unknown character in the upcoming Kenobi series uses a lightsaber. Kang told Screenrant, “I kept pinching myself, asking ‘how did I end up here?’ and my character has a lightsaber and to go wow, this is, I’m actually, it’s not a toy right? It’s the real thing.”
The plot and character details of Kenobi has been kept under wraps, so to hear Kang mention his character uses a lightsaber is quite significant, even more so when multiple outlets including myself have heard from sources that multiple Inquisitors will be making an appearance in the series.
In July it was reported by Cinelinx that Kang was playing the Fifth Brother, who most notably appeared in the animated series, Star Wars: Rebels. Though Kang doesn’t confirm he’s an Inquisitor, it definitely adds fuel to the flames and it remains to be see if Kang is playing an Inquisitor, whether or not he’s playing the Fifth Brother or a new Inquisitor created specifically for the series.
