Today a new report claims to have uncovered the working title for the upcoming Star Wars Disney+ series, The Acolyte along with the codename for the lead character.
The Illuminerdi are reporting that the codename for The Acolyte is Paradox. Codenames for productions, especially Star Wars productions, is common practice. Most recently Andor was using the codename Pilgrim, Obi-Wan Kenobi was Joshua Tree and The Mandalorian is Huckleberry. Star Wars productions also have company names, for example Andor’s company name was E&E Industries and Kenobi’s was Serires III Productions. The company name for The Acolyte has not been revealed, but earlier in the year the companies Blue Stockings U.K. Limited and Ghost Truck 6 U.K. Limited appeared and could be the company names for The Acolyte and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron. My working assumption for months in Blue Stockings is The Acolyte and Ghost Truck is Rogue Squadron.
The Illuminerdi also claimed to have discovered the name of the lead character, Aura. My belief is this is just a codename for the character as this is the usual practice for Lucasfilm during pre-production and production. In the lead role Lucasfilm are looking to cast a female of colour in her late teens.
The final bit of news Illuminerdi provides is that the start date for The Acolyte is early Summer 2022. The last I personally heard a start date was over the Summer and the production was aiming for February, but in recent weeks it seemed unlikely so an early Summer start makes sense,
What’s clear is The Illuminerdi have been lucky to get their hands on a casting call. My belief is they’ve discovered a casting call searching for the lead, Aura for a series titled Paradox with an early Summer start date. The Illuminerdi have been reliable in regards to casting calls in the past for other productions including those owned by Disney.
