As production nears for Star Wars: The Acolyte, another new cast member has come to light in the form of The Good Place star, Manny Jacinto.
Deadline have confirmed via their sources that The Good Place star has been cast in an unknown role in the High Republic era series. No additional details on Manny Jacinto’s casting have been revealed such as who he’s playing or how large his role will be, but you’d assume that he’s joining the production in a supporting role.
As mentioned, Manny Jacinto is probably best known for the critically acclaimed series, The Good Place in which he starred alongside Kristen Bell (Forgetting Sarah Marshall), Ted Danson (Cheers) and Jameela Jamil (She-Hulk). Following his successful run on The Good Place, Jacinto went on to star in films such as Bad Times at the El Royale alongside Dakota Johnson (Cha Cha Real Smooth) and Jeff Bridges (The Big Lebowski), I Want You Back alongside Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and most recently starred in the highest grossing film of the year, Top Gun: Maverick alongside Tom Cruise (Mission Impossible).
Jacinto joins the growing talented cast of The Acolyte which includes Amandla Stenberg (Bodies, Bodies, Bodies) in the lead role alongside the Emmy award winning, Lee Jaung-Jae (Squid Game) in the male lead role and Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim). Recently three other names have been linked to the series, which should be considered as probably unlikely and taken as an extreme rumour as it’s coming from past leakers Aesokas and Nurudo who leaked details on the series in the past, but have been appearing in various discords and Reddit under different names, with the actors supposedly attached being Charlie Tahan (Ozark), Nova Foueillis-Mose (House of the Dragon) and Frances Conroy (Joker), but again take these as rumours.
