Lucasfilm decided to surprised fans to be sure today, thankfully it was a welcome one in the form of an announcement for the highly anticipated second trailer for the upcoming feature film, The Mandalorian and Grogu. The Hollywood Reporter said last week the trailer was arriving very soon and that is exactly what has happened.
Lucasfilm shared a brief clip across their social media platforms today showcasing previously unseen footage from The Mandalorian and Grogu.
The clip featured X-Wings landing in front of a beautiful sunset to a rendition of the iconic Star Wars opening theme before we cut to Grogu causing chaos for Din Djarin as she pushes buttons and flicks switches in the cockpit of Din’s ship. The clip ends with the preparing to blast off and ‘Trailer Tomorrow’ appears across the screen.
Jon Favreau teased recently that fans will get more clues as to what the plot of The Mandalorian and Grogu will be, something many took as a hint towards a new trailer releasing somewhat soon. We didn’t expect to see a trailer so soon and had anticipated its arrival mid-March given past releases. It does make me wonder if there’ll be a final trailer following the one due for release tomorrow given just how far away the release of The Mandalorian and Grogu is.

The Mandalorian and Grogu is written by Jon Favreau, the man who created the Disney+ series, and co-written by the Lucasfilm co-president, Dave Filoni. Favreau is also onboard for directing duties and recently called it the culmination of his work at Lucasfilm and on The Mandalorian series, possibly even hinting at an exit from the franchise. The Mandalorian and Grogu blasts into cinemas on May 22nd, 2026.
