In the spring it was reported that Vikings star Ray Stevenson and The Spy Who Dumped Me’s Ivanna Sakhno had joined The Mandalorian spin-off and Star Wars: Rebels successor series, Ahsoka, which is due to be released next year. Both of their roles were shrouded in secrecy, which is typically the case with Lucasfilm productions, but the only tidbit we had at the time was that Stevenson’s character was playing an officer of some kind that was not Thrawn.
Over the last few days a report from MakingStarWars has surfaced which sheds light of the characters played by Stevenson and Sakhno. Stevenson reportedly plays a character named Baylon, who is apparently a former Jedi and survivor of order 66 (another one?) who fled to the ‘new beyond’ and became corrupted over time. During his time in the ‘new beyond’, Baylon adopts a cold, calculated and eager apprentice named Shin, played by Sakhno.
MSW has previously reported that a form of Nightsisters are present in this ‘new beyond’ and speculates that perhaps Sakhno’s Shin is one of them and this variant of Nightsisters are responsible for the corruption of Baylon. These Nightsisters reportedly use and view the force differently to what we’ve seen in the galaxy we’re familiar with. What the outlet is sure on though is that Baylon and Shin work with Grand Admiral Thrawn and are tasked with bringing down our hero, Ahsoka Tano.
