Today a new report from The Illuminerdi has claimed that production on The Acolyte has been delayed from this May until October. The Illuminerdi claim that production on Acolyte will now run from October 2022 until May 2023, though the report does not add if the production is still slated to fill at Pinewood Studios, London as previously reported.
The report also adds that Lucasfilm are currently looking to cast a male in his fifties for a character codenamed Paul who will be a series regular, but only slated to star in one season of The Acolyte. Lucasfilm are also reportedly looking to cast a young black female in the ages of eight to ten for the character of Miri who will be a lead guest star on the season and that the most interesting tidbit about this casting is that Lucasfilm want identical twins for the role. It’s worth noting that The Illuminerdi have access to casting grids and are usually very reliable when it comes to casting and other information associated.
Currently we only know of one cast member, Amandla Stenberg (Bodies Bodies Bodies), who was cast in the lead role earlier this year. Little is know about The Acolyte despite being officially announced over sixteen months ago. At the time of writing we only know the lead, that it’s created Leslye Headland (Russian Doll), set in the High Republic era, and focuses on the emergence of darkside powers during that time period.
