Disney has revealed a list of what’s coming to Disney+ in September, and though the recently delayed Andor features, the second season of The Bad Batch does not.
Previously it was revealed that The Bad Batch season two would premiere on September 28th exclusively on Disney+ via a promotional header on the streaming service shortly after the release of the new seasons trailer back in May. However the recently released list only features The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers S2, Andor episode 4, Life Below Zero: Northern Territories, and Minnie’s Bow-Toons: Party Palace Pals S2. At this time Disney and Lucasfilm have provided no update on the series to the dismay of fans.
Many fans began speculating that a delay on the season could occur once Andor was delayed from August 31st to September 21st, just one week before The Bad Batch premiere. However Disney have two important events coming up which could provide us with an update on the the sophomore season.
Disney have been talking up Disney Plus Day which occurs on September 8th, and have already announced various releases for the day including Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return, a documentary chronicling the making of the hit series. Disney have promised exciting updates, reveals and announcements on the day for projects that’ll be made for and releasing on the streaming service, and this is the most likely candidate in my opinion as to where we’ll get updated on the second season of The Bad Batch. The alternative option, and the one I find less likely, is an announcement during the D23 Expo which begins on September 9th which will feature various announcements from Disney’s studios and franchises, with Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm confirmed to have a presence.
