Hello there! Before we continue with the article, I kindly ask for you to consider showing your support and appreciation for my work by tipping me via my Ko-Fi page here. Tips are quite rare around these parts, but I assure you no matter how big or small, each tip is deeply appreciated. Now, let’s get on with the news!

The report comes to us from MakingStarWars.Net, who previously accurately reported the release date of the Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer earlier this year. According to the report, The Mandalorian official trailer (the previously released one was the official teaser) will release on Christmas day, but that a poster for the new season will debut eleven days before on December 14th.

The report goes on to reveal additional details regarding the trailer including the length being less than two minutes long, the introduction to Christopher Lloyd’s character who plays a Mandalorian clan leader and sports a helmet with horns, and that the trailer as a whole focuses on the rivalry between Din Djarin and Bo-Katan Kryze. The report notes that the showdown between Din and Bo is a key part of the marketing and likely a misdirect to some degree, but that ultimately the two will work together to combat a greater enemy.

Of course nothing is official until Lucasfilm themselves announce the trailer release date themselves and is subject to change, but the outlet claims that at this point they believe a release date change for the trailer is unlikely to the best of their knowledge. The third season of The Mandalorian was previously announced during Star Wars Celebration to be releasing in February, but following the release of the teaser in September, eagle eyed fans noticed that the February release window was removed from official social media accounts of The Mandalorian and was replaced simply by 2023 which has led some to speculate that perhaps the season has taken a delay. However if this report is accurate I fully expect the third season of The Mandalorian to release in February.

2023 looks to be a bright year for Star Wars with the release of various live-action series such as The Mandalorian, Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew, as well as the second season of the animated series, Star Wars: The Bad Batch and the highly anticipated sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, 2019’s hit video game from Respawn in the form of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
