There’s been rumours of a young Ashoka Tano appearing in the Ahsoka series for quite some time, and now a rumour might reveal who is playing the part.

Towards the tail end of last week, a Redditor named EconomicsLegal6989, shared on Reddit that they knew who was playing the part of the young Ahsoka Tano in flashback scenes set to appear in the Ahsoka series this week, episode five. On Reddit, the user danced around the name, but shared that the actress had recently featured in a billion dollar movie. In addition, viewers of the Star Wars Santa Show shared that the Redditor had shared the Greenblatt name in a Discord server. Unfortunately I did not see the Greenblatt mention, but I did see the Redditor’s comment (which has now been deleted) about the actress being part of a billion dollar flick.
The reason we’re covering the comments of this Reddit user is because they shared accurate information on the third and fourth episodes of Ahsoka days and weeks ahead of the episodes release. Their information on those episodes lined up with what I had heard and they’ve been sharing information of the fifth episode of the series which also lines up with a report of mine from last week which you can read here.
Over the weekend, one of the most reliable Star Wars insiders, MakingStarWars, took to his YouTube show to share tidbits he had heard regarding the fifth episode of Ahsoka and details on the season finale. During the show, MSW acknowledge the rumours of Ariana Greenblatt playing a young Ahsoka Tano, which originated with the aforementioned Redditor, with MSW adding that he too has heard that Greenblatt was cast in that and due to the rumours already being out there, he felt comfortable backing it up and not breaking the details himself. MakingStarWars said:
“We walk into a very weird thing here in that I have two sources on this and we have that Reddit leaker thing, and we’ve heard this now, who is playing the part [of young Ahsoka]. So, just to be fair, I have also heard that the Redditor leaked it to a Discord chat that it was the girl from Barbie, right? Ariana Greenblatt. I can back that up. The girl from Barbie, Greenblatt, is the young Ahsoka. Some people were like, ‘don’t say who it is’, but it’s already out there and we can just double down on it.” – MakingStarWars via TheMakingStarWars Show.
Personally I have nothing to add to this rumour as I have not heard it myself from any sources, but as I mentioned earlier, MakingStarWars is a very reliable insider and the Reddit user has shared accurate information in recent weeks. Past rumours claimed that House of the Dragon actress, Savannah Steyn, was playing the young Ahsoka. The Steyn rumour originated on Reddit from an account with no track record that also claimed Anjelica Huston and Brandon Soo Hoo both had roles in the Ahsoka series, then two months later, Nerdgazm exclusively reported that Steyn had been cast as Tano. I did not cover the comment or report made as I only cover outlets or individuals that I’ve found reputable and with good track records.
Ariana Greenblatt is now rumoured to be in the role of young Ahsoka Tano and many would’ve become familiar with the actress this Summer when she starred as Sasha in the biggest box office hit of the year, Barbie, which has grossed one billion and four hundred million dollars at the box office. In addition to starring in a billion dollar film, Greenblatt also starred in a two billion dollar film, Avengers: Infinity War, which she starred in as a young Gamora. At just sixteen years of age, Greenblatt has starred in films that have earned over three billion dollars at the box office.
The question of who will be playing a young Ahsoka Tano will be answered tomorrow evening when the latest episode of Ahsoka airs exclusively on Disney+.
