In September you may recall that I exclusively reported that the live-action Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew, which was scheduled for release this year, had unfortunately been delayed into 2024. Within this article released in September, I mentioned having sources telling me that Skeleton Crew could be delayed by an entire year from when it was originally supposed to be released. Skeleton Crew was supposed to release in late November of this year, which pointed towards a November 2024 release window. Now, another reliable outlet is reporting that Skeleton Crew is aiming to release in the latter stages of next year.

Before we continue with news of the day, I’d just like to share that you can support my work in two ways for which I’d be extremely grateful. Firstly it’s via my newly created Patreon page which has a two tier’s at this time – one to simply to support my work and a second which features ad-free articles. Secondly you can tip me with a simple one off payment on my Ko-Fi page or you can choose to support my work monthly on the platform. I’d truly appreciate it if you decided to support my work, but no pressure, I know things are pretty tough out here. Anyway, back to the reason you came here – the news!

MakingStarWars took to his live YouTube show to share that he had heard from sources that the series created by Spider-Man: Homecoming duo, Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, would be looking to release closer to the Christmas/Holiday period of 2024. You can read the quote from MSW below.

Yeah, it’s not what I want and what Bespin Bulletin has heard and what I have now heard from two separated sources is it would be out like after Halloween. Today I spoke to somebody that said that they, this is a Lucasfilm person, expect it to be Holiday 2024. Christmas season. When I hear holiday season, I expect between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

MakingStarWars when on to reiterate many of the points I was first to report in September of this year. MSW added that next year will see The Acolyte, the live-action series created by Leslye Headland (Russian Doll), release before Skeleton Crew and that Andor season two likely won’t fit into 2024 and could slip into 2025. In my exclusive September article I shared that sources informed me that Skeleton Crew could release in November 2024, that The Acolyte was due to release in the second quarter of 2024 but slipped slightly (I suspect August 2024) and that Andor season two could end up releasing in early 2025.

MakingStarWars also added that The Mandalorian season four has benefited from having more time to work and produce following the end of the Writers Guild of America strike. The Mandalorian season four was originally due to begin filming in September 2023, but was delayed indefinitely due to both the WGA strike and the SAG-AFTRA. I’ve heard from sources that the fourth season will begin filming early next year and will release in 2025.

It’s nice to hear that another reliable outlet has heard the pieces of information I’ve shared over the last few months. It’s unfortunate we might not see Skeleton Crew for an entire year, especially as it was one of my more anticipated Star Wars series since I saw the trailer at Star Wars Celebration. 2024 looks to be a great year for Star Wars content with The Acolyte, Skeleton Crew, The Bad Batch and Tales of the Jedi all looking to release.

Thank you for reading the article and if you enjoyed your read, or if you’re a regular reader of Bespin Bulletin then I kindly ask if you’d consider showing your support and appreciation by tipping me via my Ko-Fi page here, each tip is deeply appreciated or supporting my work via my newly launched Patreon page here.
