First Star Wars Zero Company Patch Coming Next Week

The first post launch patch for Star Wars Zero Company is coming very soon. EA Star Wars has finally shared some information about an update and what it will address.

This news comes after some radio silence from the studio and publisher of Zero Company in relation to future updates. We learned earlier this week that only a “skeleton crew” remains on payroll and working on patches.

In a message shared on the EA Star Wars Discord server, one staff member said on Thursday that the game’s first patch is coming next week. The update will “address bugs and performance issues”. More info will be provided when the update is ready. Currently the team are hard at work getting the patch prepared for all platforms.

The team also say on the Steam Hub they are specifically aware of a bug that sees a 100% chance-to-hit incorrectly recalculated at a lower chance-to-hit when the shot is taken. They are currently looking into a fix.

Performance issues relating to crashes and CPU threading are being worked on too. Crashes caused specifically by NVIDIA GPUS or Intel processors have also been acknowledged. Potential fixes were also provided:

    NVIDIA GPUs:
    • If you’re experiencing crashes while using DLSS and have NVIDIA Game Ready Driver 610.88 or older installed, updating to the latest Game Ready Driver might help. You can update your driver through the NVIDIA App or download the latest driver from NVIDIA’s website.
    Intel CPUs:
    • Some Intel® Coreâ„¢ 13th and 14th Gen desktop processors may experience instability that can cause crashes. Updating your system BIOS to the latest version may help. Check Intel’s guidance for more information, and follow the instructions from your system or motherboard manufacturer when updating your BIOS.
    • Note to users of the Intel 13th and 14th generation processors facing crashes, an alternative solution to a BIOS update is to use the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and lowering your “Performance Core Ratio” from 55x to 54x, 53x, or 52x.

Stay tuned for patch notes coming next week with this first post launch update.
