Star Wars Zero Company is officially the best selling game on Steam right now. In fact, It has been for the past couple of days and is the biggest Steam launch for a Star Wars game.
The wait is finally over for fans who have been longing for an extensive tactical take on the galaxy far, far away. First announced at the start of 2022, Bit Reactor alongside Respawn Entertainment have been hard at work crafting an exciting and innovative new Star Wars game.Â
Reviews dropped yesterday which saw it become one of the highest rated Star Wars games of all time only trailing classics like KOTOR and Jedi Knight II. The glowing reviews are a testament to the hard work and passion put in by the development team.
These reviews led to a significant surge in pre-orders. Soon after the review embargo dropped, the game became the best selling game on Steam. It has remained in that position since then. “ZCOM” also opened to 68,025 concurrent players (and climbing) as of 7pm BST on Thursday. This is the highest of any Star Wars game on PC. The previous record was held by Jedi Survivor which hit a peak concurrent of 67,855.
Games in this genre have a predominantly PC player base so it’s no surprise that it’s doing exactly well on Valve’s platform. Also, Zero Company does not require the EA app to play and only costs $49.99. That’s a sweet deal.

It will be interesting to see if the game can sustain a long tail of sales and healthy concurrent looks like other titles in this genre that came before it. As of now, there is no current public plans for future content. If the games reviews are anything to go by, selling copies shouldn’t be a problem which could lead to some considerable posts launch support from the developers.
