A brand new Star Wars starfighter leak has hit. This is a follow-up piece to the previous leak that we reported on which dropped shortly after the recent teaser. This is a supplementary for that provides more details for the fight scene involving our hero Kade Auberon.
For those that missed the previous report, Kade and the force sensitive child enter a boxing arena. They find an alien that is withholding a special item from them. Kade offers to fight the crowds favourite in order to secure the item. He goes up against a creature called Fanga. You can read the full, index previous leak here.
In a new series of tweets, the ever reliable Making Star Wars has shared more from the set of Star Wars Starfighter.
Creature Details
Fanga is described as a “Wookiee crossed with a Wampa.” The goggles mentioned in previous leak are “tiny” and he is “Huge”, covered in “Beautiful white fur” and “Absolutely ferocious-looking with a nasty mouth.” Whilst Fanga sounds like a Gigoran, sources indicate that this is brand new species in Star Wars canon and that there is no explanation as to what Fanga is.
The location is now described more as a nightclub and Fanga’s appearance is supposed to make Kade look like he has “ZERO chance” in a fight with him. This makes the scene “funnier” because he “immediately gets wrecked” after showing off.
Return To Form

As we know, Star Wars Starfighter is a return back to high budget and quality filmmaking within the franchise. Fanga was “100% practical on set” which will please some fans. This wasn’t Ryan Gosling fighting a ghost, this was an actual fight between Gosling and a fully dressed up creature. It is entirely possible ILM replace some of him with CGI to enhance the visuals but there is no certainty on that yet.
In comparison, some creatures in the other various arenas were “clearly meant for later VFX replacement/enhancement”. Whilst they were at on set, the costumes were “unfinished or unpainted during filming”. These fights were taken place throughout the scene simultaneously with Kade and Fanga’s fight.
We’re just under a year away from Star Wars Starfighter hitting cinema and IMAX screens but fans are getting more and more excited. In other recent Star Wars Starfighter news, footage of the film was shown behind closed doors to attendees of D23.
