Star Wars Eclipse has received a development update from Quantic Dream. The video game maker based out of Paris have rebuked claims of cancellation fears from staff set to be laid off. Last week we reported on how during Lucasfilm’s visit at the studio to view the game’s progress, staff were called to strike by a union. This was due to the loss of 115 jobs at the Paris office’s Spellcasters Chronicles team. Star Wars gaming just got more depressing. PlayStation have announced that they will no longer be producing discs for any video game in the coming years. Sony’s PlayStation division announced on Wednesday via a blog post that they’ll cease production of video game discs for all PlayStation games from January 2028. An attempt to save Star Wars Eclipse due to corporate mismanagement is being made by staff. A new report has detailed how the game’s developer, Quantic Dream, has hit a breaking point.
