A dozen Star Wars games have been added to the XBOX disc-to-digital program. Fans of recent blockbusters and old school classics will be pleased to find out various titles can be given a free digital entitlement with any disc version.
For those unaware, XBOX recently launched (only to signed up XBOX Insiders as of now) a system that allows you to put your disc in any XBOX Series X|S or XBOX One console and claim a free digital entitlement. This means you can play the game anywhere you’re signed into without needing a disc.
For example, XBOX Series S owners who lack a disc drive in their current gen console can play games they own discs for if they put it into another console and they’re signed in on. You only have do to this once. All of this is great news for those still purchasing physical copies of games and/or have a great disc library.
Publishers need to opt-in meaning not every game is currently supported. Over 1400 games are up for disc-to-digital entitlement right now and many Star Wars games have been added to the program. Hopefully Galactic Racer also joins. You can see the full list of supported games from a galaxy far, far away below via xct.live.
