EA have just published a new look for their EA Star Wars games website. This might seem like it has come out of nowhere but there is a bit more to it.
After remaining largely unchanged for a few years and suffering from visual bugs, the game publisher has given their sub-site a small update. Despite this being just a minor visual refresh with a new image and layout, it is interesting to see the game publisher decided that now is the time to make changes and fixes.
Delving Into The Details
A while back, the EA Star Wars website changed its font to be the one found in DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront from 2015, suffer from missing articles in the new section and a few other issues. All that has really changed in about two years is that Star Wars Zero Company got given its own webpage and placed at the bottom of the main webpage housing all of the EA Star Wars titles. Now the EA Star Wars site looks more maintained with this visual refresh.
At the top of the page, the EA Star Wars logo has been changed to just be the Star Wars logo. Users can also find a Star Wars logo and subheading which was not present before. A paragraph of text from the bottom of the old page has been moved under the subheader.
The upcoming release from Bit Reactor, Star Wars Zero Company, has now been placed towards the top of the page below the logo. You can also find a carousel of Star Wars games which have their genres as tags and link to the EA store listing. Star Wars Zero Company is present here but a link to the store just gives a 404 error at this moment in time.
This refresh comes just as the next title under the EA Star Wars banner, Star Wars Zero Company, is given its own store page and put up for wishlisting on EA’s platform which we reported on here. The timing seems less of a coincidence and more tactical.
You can find a full comparison of both the old (left) and updated site (right) below. Click both of the images to view them at full resolution.

Something rather odd we noticed is that the Star Wars logo used in the top corner is not the official Star Wars logo. It has a few differences such as the straight lines for the R compared to curved ones seen in the proper logo used by Lucasfilm and partners in an official capacity. Whoever updated the website did not use an official logo. This seems like quite a rookie mistake
EA Star Wars’ Future
EA are currently going through an acquisition by the Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), alongside Silver Lake and Affinity Partners. There may be changes in the strategy of the company. Following Zero Company will be the third and final Jedi game by Respawn.
Following that game’s release, there has been no indication EA would be looking to continue making Star Wars games despite all the success they’ve had with them. We will have to wait and see what the future holds for this sub-brand.
