The Force is strong with the Star Wars Battlefront 2 community.
Following the record-shattering success of last year’s multi-month-long Star Wars Battlefront 2 resurgence event, plans for another one have now been revealed.
Earlier this month, we reported on new data from PlayStation that showed Star Wars Battlefront 2 is still one of the most downloaded games each month. We also noted that plans of another resurgence event was being constructed. The time has now come to begin spreading the word about this year’s resurgence event.
An Important Announcement
Kyber, the community-created custom game launcher, announced this year’s resurgence in a Tweet early on Thursday morning. They say that Star Wars Battlefront Resurgence 2026 will begin in May. There’s also a plea to anyone who is hearing this message to tell friends and content creators that it will be taking place once again.
May is going to surge Battlefront’s population thanks to a number of factors. There will be a lot of momentum surrounding the Star Wars franchise. May 4th is Star Wars day and that will contain the Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord finale. Plus, The Mandalorian and Grogu will launch in theatres on May 22nd. We’ll also see some significant updates to Battlefront 2’s multiplayer thanks to Kyber.
Included in the aforementioned Tweet are images of new content coming to the game via updates to Battlefront+. The screenshots (found below) show a reworked First Order Riot Trooper plus a new skin for The Mandalorian. That is not everything coming in the next Battlefront+ content drop. Fans can also expect to see Scarif’s skies be filled by U-Wings and TIE Strikers.

As we mentioned in a previous article, a substantial update will be coming to Kyber too. It will be packed full of several highly requested features by the community. In terms of when it will release, players won’t have to wait too long. Stay tuned for the latest updates on Kyber and the future of Star Wars Battlefront II.
