A slate of interesting yet unannounced Star Wars games are being looked at by Lucasfilm Games from a number of different developers. That’s according to the division’s vice president.

In a new interview with The Games Business, Lucasfilm Games’ Douglas Reilly actually gave some insight into how the licensor handles the early days of a new Star Wars video game. He also reveals that they’ve become more open to who they work with. A decade long criticism has been how strict Lucasfilm have been when it comes to video games in a number of areas.

Furthermore, the exec teases something exciting. He believes the games and developers that Lucasfilm are currently in the early stages of production with will be a pleasant surprise to fans; much like Zero Company and Galactic Racer was. You can read Reilly’s full insight below.

“I think we’ve tried to be more flexible about like who we’re willing to take pitches from and good ideas can come from a lot of different places. You don’t have to necessarily be a top five publisher to make a great Star Wars game. We have a high quality bar and we want to make sure there excellent experiences and that means typically you work with more experienced teams than, you know, new teams who have no track record of of making great things.

We’re exploring all kinds of things that large and small with partners that I think are going to continue to surprise folks who are like, ‘Oh, they’re doing a thing with them. That might be interesting to see how that turns out.'”

What do you think these surprising developers and titles could be? Let us know down in the comments section below.

In other Star Wars gaming news, Lucasfilm want to double down on smaller titles; learn more here. Plus, Galactic Racer could expand in other canon media according to the company.
