Yet another newly discovered Easter egg has been found inside of Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005).
This isn’t a simple visual bit of fun left behind by developers instead this is a new way to play the game. We’ll be taking a look at the new game mode and how you can do it yourself.
We previously reported on how modders discovered a playable Wampa Easter egg through decompiling the game. This was a major discovery given that it has gone on earth for over two decades. However, that was not the only thing that has been found by the community in recent days. Not long after the initial discovery, someone has managed to access a game mode that has gone completely under the radar since it’s release.
As shown in a video by phantom567459, fans are now able to play a top-down Heroes vs Villains-like game mode. As you can see from the images below, the game let’s you play the classic HvV mode on Mos Eisley but from a top down perspective which completely alters how the game is played. Also, the play area is limited to the Sail Barge hangar making this good for area combat.
How To Play The Top-Down Easter Egg Mod In Star Wars Battlefront 2

If you want to play this mode, simply follow these instructions:
- Start the game on Xbox. This game mode is only available on Xbox versions of the game. This goes for disc, digital, backwards compatible and the disgraced Classic Collection versions. It will not work on any other platform.
- Create a new profile named “VkJSeOntUHY”. It must be input as displayed, it is case sensitive.
- Go into the instant action menu.
- Select Mos Eisley as the map and Assault as the game mode.
- Launch the match.
- Select whichever team and character you choose.

And there you go. You can now play Assault but with an all new perspective.
Here are a few more bits of information. Decreasing the AI count to one instant action settings will turn this into a 1v1 match. You are also able to play split screen except it isn’t split screen and both players share the same view.
It will be really great if this starts a resurgence in Star Wars Battlefront Easter eggs. Even just one was good enough for us and we’ve been spoilt with a second. Let’s see what the future brings.
