An expanded look at Star Wars Zero Company is finally here. Previews for the game show the squad-based tactics title are giving fans a whole new look at its underground Clone Wars-era story. Plus, details on things such as its in-depth customization system has also been given a true reveal.
Based on posts on social media, a large number of Star Wars content creators and members of the game press were invited to get hands-on with the game earlier this month. Now they have been permitted to share their thoughts and give fans a far better look at the game.
On the narrative front, Alex from Star Wars Explained told viewers that the game is “near perfect in tone”. It has both an Andor-like atmosphere but plenty of Star Wars weirdness and humour thanks to a “very clever script”. Given Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor writer Aaron Contreras helmed this script too, the high praise won’t come as a shock to fans.
Star Wars gaming YouTuber AZZATRU said in his video preview that the game’s tactical combat is both “extremely fun and satisfying” thanks to a mix of great design choices. We also learn a lot more about the 3rd person action/adventure-style gameplay segments from this video.
The content creator notes that despite these being quite limited in scope, they do help to immerse the player in a galaxy far, far way. You’re able to get a good look at what Zero Company has to offer in the video below.
According to PC Gamer, it is a safe XCOM-like game but can be thoroughly enjoyed. The first dozen hours just leaves you wanting more. For newcomers to the genre, Tech Radar tells readers that it will hook tactical newbies and it is “massively impressive”.
Some of the previews mentioned bugs from small cosmetic issues to soft-locking. IGN called the game enjoyable but had a laundry list of distracting glitches such as broken camera angles. The game is just a few weeks away from release but the preview build is not the latest by the developers.

The majority of previews published from this event are positive. This is a great sign for those who have been longing for the title. The reception is not a surprise though given Bit Reactor and Respawn’s pedigree.
