The next Star Wars trilogy, Episodes 10, 11 and 12, have been seemingly pushed up to be a focus for Lucasfilm and Disney according to an insider.
For a while now, we’ve known that Simon Kinberg is writing a trilogy of films. Kathleen Kennedy even confirmed this trilogy’s existence last year and then during her exit interviews at the start of this year she revealed 70 pages of a story treatment have been written.
During this week there has been a lot of talk about this trilogy of films following an article from GQ. The article in question talks about how Kinberg’s trilogy will be episode 10 through 12 of the Skywalker Saga.
This information has been reported on by various outlets and social media accounts add some brand new leak. However, this isn’t new information. GQ’s article does a bit of piecing other articles, interviews and rumours together. They don’t have inside sources sharing things for this article despite how people on social media are wording it.
Lucasfilm Moving Forward

Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider shared what he knows and thinks in the latest episode of his podcast The Hot Mic. Initially, Sneider was puzzled as to why the talk of Episode 10-12 is being treated as news. The journalist said “it was basically said when the project was announced that Kinberg’s movie is intended to serve as episode 10.” This is not going to be a fresh reboot with all-new faces but a continuation of Rey Skywalker’s story.
“So I think What they’re trying to do is trying to continue the story people are invested in. I don’t know what the big deal is. Rey will be back.”
More interestingly, Sneider goes on share a little tidbit:
“I don’t want to say it’s heating up but it’s moving to like from the back burner to the front burner you know. They have to start thinking about what’s next after [Star Wars] Starfighter now that that movie is you know in the can. Starfighter is certainly the ‘we’re back’.”
