We’re just over two months away from the release of the first new Star Wars theatrical release in seven years with The Mandalorian and Grogu, the follow-up movie to the juggernaut Disney+ series, The Mandalorian, created by Jon Favreau.
Favreau directed the upcoming flick and it has been well publicised that he is also the writer of the feature film. Another rumoured to have put pen to paper for the movie is Dave Filoni, the co-president of Lucasfilm, and the creator of Star Wars series such as Ahsoka and Star Wars: Rebels.
This was always expected given how closely Jon and Dave worked together on The Mandalorian series and have co-produced various other series in ‘The MandoVerse’ including The Book of Boba Fett and Skeleton Crew.
Per the Writers Guild of America, the full writing credits for the picture have been revealed and yes, both Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have been created. However, there is a third name credited and it’s frequent collaborator of the pair and somebody very familiar with the MandoVerse.
There Is Another

Per the WGA, Noah Kloor is credited with being a writer on The Mandalorian and Grogu. That name should be familiar with Star Wars fans, but if it isn’t, let’s give you a refresher on his work inside of the galaxy far, far away.
Kloor got his first writing credits on The Book of Boba Fett, where he helped write every single episode of the series alongside Jon Favreau. Favreau and Kloor are the only two writers credited for writing every episode of The Book of Boba Fett, sans George Lucas who gets credited for characters based on Star Wars, with Dave Filoni only getting writing credits for a single episode.
In addition to his work on The Book of Boba Fett, Kloor wrote on the third season of The Mandalorian, but just for a single episode. Noah and Jon Favreau are credited as the writers for Chapter 19: The Convert.
It’s not a surprise to see these three names attached to the credits of The Mandalorian and Grogu, Favreau and Filoni have kept their circle pretty tight when it comes to their work on The Mandalorian and have worked frequently with the same collaborators throughout the series.
The Mandalorian and Grogu is due to hit theatres on May 22nd.
Speaking of The Book of Boba Fett, Temuera Morrison revealed last week how Lucasfilm continues to shut down Boba’s return for now. Learn more here.
