A number of new video clips from Star Wars Zero Company have leaked. The highly anticipated turn-based tactics game is a little over a week away from release but any sort of new content is always welcomed by fans although these display some issues.
We got some extensive previews last week and a new trailer but you can’t have enough of a look at an unreleased video game. Now we have even more videos showing off the game.
Mistakes Were Made
Accounts on XBOX, likely of reviewers, have been sharing clips of the game potentially unknowingly. After taking a video in-game, the users have uploaded it to the XBOX platform and it’s game club specifically for Zero Company. These videos are then published for every follower of the game to view on the club.
Typically, when a video game is under embargo during a review period, the ability to take screenshots and video clips directly from the console is disabled. Unfortunately, someone somewhere in the chain forgot to enable this setting on Zero Company. The only detrimental thing to come from this would be some significant story spoilers. The situation will be one to watch for the repercussions.
A Foreshadowing

So far, there is a cutscene, combat clip and another showing customisation. Something that stands out from the latter clip is the shadow quality. It is looking rough. The shadows are very blocky with flickering. That could be quite distracting for some players.
Occasional pop-in, lower resolution textures and artifacting is present in a couple of the clips. These are similar issues Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor encountered; a standard of Unreal Engine releases. It is worth noting that the game is not out until next Thursday so a day one patch could fix some of these issues. Is this game coming in hot? Possibly.
The recent previews from game journalists and content creators were only on the PC version and it seemed to perform better on higher end hardware compared to these console versions. Another thing to keep in mind is we don’t know if these reviewers are playing on XBOX Series X or S. There is a performance difference there. The one combat clip runs at 60FPS and does not seem to suffer from any major graphical issues compared to the other videos. You can watch the cutscene clip here.
No information is currently known about the review embargo. We’ll keep you posted if it is revealed prior to release.
