Ahsoka Season 2 has been delayed by Lucasfilm and The Walt Disney Company. The second season of the show was due to premiere later this year. It was even on track as recent as last month per Star Wars Insider but a decision has been made to push it by several months and into the next calendar year.
On Tuesday, the Disney Upfront event took place in New York City. The presentation gave investors a look into what is coming from Disney over the next year or so. During the showcase, a sizzle reel with footage from the new season was shown off at the behind-closed-doors event. Dave Filoni and cast members also could be seen on video talking about this new season.
According to those in attendance there was lots of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker and many different Lightsabers. Following this, Ahsoka herself, Rosario Dawson, took to the stage. According to StarWars.com she said:
“It’s truly special seeing all the love from fans out there for Ahsoka and her crew. I can tell you this season, the battles are bigger and the stakes are higher. We cannot wait for you to see.”
Additionally, bad news was shared by Dawson. The show’s second season will air in early 2027. There was much assumption from Star Wars fans that it would begin streaming on Disney+ around August/September time much like the first season. This will mark an over 3 year gap between the seasons.

The delay until early 2027 and a not a super specific time frame will no doubt fans who were looking forward to a second live action project in 2026. There will be no live action Disney+ show out this year; the first time since 2018 which was a year before this era of Star Wars began.
In other recent Ahsoka Season 2 news, Tommie Earl Jenkins is said to be part of the cast. Plus, Obi-Wan Kenobi might be making an appearance in Clone Wars flashbacks. Learn more here.
