New data for Droid Tycoon, the Star Wars game in Fortnite has been released. It reveals just how successful the game has been and even matching The Mandalorian and Grogu in a key statistic.
It has been over a month since Epic Games allowed fans to publish their very own Star Wars games inside of Fortnite. There has been a mixed bag of both quality of the games and reception by various fan bases. Traditional Fortnite fans are fed up of the Star Wars content. In contrast, non-casual Star Wars fans are very happy with what are able to experience. The problem is the latter are smaller portion of players. It has led to a decrease in players for the gaming platform and an all-time low.
When the Star Wars games launched on May 1st, Epic had put out three distinct experiences crafted by 3rd party Fortnite content teams. One of those games Droid Tycoon. Ever since launch it has been a hit. We’ve known this by looking at the publicly available player counts. It did really, really well out of the gate and has sustained a healthy playerbase in comparison to the other games.
In a new report from Games Beat, the Future Trash-developed game had surpassed more than 1.5 billion minutes of play time as of June 3rd. Games Beat claims around the same time has been spent playing Droid Tycoon than the worldwide audiences have watched The Mandalorian and Grogu in theatres. With dwindling ticket sales, Droid Tycoon is not far off from taking over.

The game’s peak concurrent player count has been officially recorded as more than 124,000 players. It achieved that early in May. Droid Tycoon is still achieving tens of thousands of concurrent players during weekdays. Meanwhile the average play session length lasts for over 100 minutes.
To keep the games population up, the development team have released several significant updates. The dev team and Epic are treating it like a live service game with new content spanning events and tweaks to make the game better. This includes appearances from Mister Bones and DJ R-3X as part of special in-game events.
