May is just around the corner and you know what that means…May the 4th Celebrations are imminent and we’re finally entering the release month of The Mandalorian and Grogu movie which blasts into theatres on May 22nd.
One company that’s taken part in the festivities of May 4th in recent years is Fortnite and this year is no different. Typically Fortnite debuts new skins of Star Wars characters and has some kind of mini-event focused on the franchise which will include weapons and vehicles from the a galaxy far, far away venturing into the Battle Royale. This year however they’re going even harder and has lined up an entire month of activities, releases and events to celebrate Star Wars and the release of The Mandalorian and Grogu.
Starting on April 30th, TODAY, players can obtain the Fishstick frozen in carbonite backbling by linking their Epic Games account to their Disney+ account. The item is free for players that link the accounts and it’s not the first time Epic have done this, last year players were rewarded with a First Order Stromtrooper when linking the accounts.

Clone Wars Skins
Yesterday, we wrote about the release of the Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano Clone Wars skins that are due to release in the Item Shop on May 1st, tomorrow. Anakin and Ahsoka have both had Fortnite skins in the past, Skywalker sporting his Revenge of the Sith look and Tano with a look from her Disney+ live-action series.

Star Wars Battlefront-Inspired Mode And Beyond
May 1st will see new Star Wars focused quests across the Battle Royale and also see the release of three Star Wars games inside of Fortnite which you can read below.
Galactic Siege: Fight in large-scale PvP class-based battles with 10v10 combat across iconic Star Wars planets. Map code — 5003-9856-3648.
Escape Vader: Hide, run, and try to survive in this 4-player co-op game where you attempt to escape the terrifying Sith Lord, Darth Vader. Map code — 7285-4185-5428.
Droid Tycoon: Build and customize droids using authentic Star Wars blueprints, manage your workshop and factory systems, and unlock rare components and special missions. Map code — 7865-8305-9184.
Battle Royale isn’t the only mode in Fortnite getting new Star Wars content as LEGO Fortnite Odyssey is getting its own Star Wars update on May 14 with the new Hover Brick, hover vehicles, Mando and Grogu, and Star Wars enemies.
Exclusive The Mandalorian and Grogu Footage
On May 19th, players and fans will be able to join a watch party for The Mandalorian and Grogu. No, we will not be able to watch the entire movie in Fortnite three days early, but we will get to watch a 10 minute sneak-peek from the movie at 10AM ET/3PM BST.
Players will have to spawn into a new mode and they’ll be recruited as a Deputy to collect bounties, defend the city from waves of enemies, and find Grogu. Once players have spent 20 minutes exploring Nevarro you’ll unlock the exclusive Mandalorian Sanctuary loading screen which will debut the exclusive footage.

On May 21st, a new skin and either a sidekick or backbling (unclear at the time of writing). The Mandalorian/Din Djarin ‘pen and ink’ skin will be releasing in the item shop alongside the BDX droid. The ‘pen and ink’ variant of Din Djarin will see the character styled in an animated/comicbook style. This variant might disappoint some fans, but the Mandalorian/Din Djarin skin that was previously released in Fortnite was exclusive to a Fortnite Battle Pass and cannot be sold in the item shop.

Lastly, on May 26th, players can once again meet in the island’s amphitheater to watch a Q&A with the director of The Mandalorian and Grogu, Jon Favreau, as he answers community questions about the film and making of The Mandalorian and Grogu Watch Party Island.

Fortnite are going all out next month for Star Wars and the release of The Mandalorian and Grogu, so if haven’t dropped into the Battle Royale in a while, next month (or today) might be the perfect time to hop back in the Battle Bus.
