A new rumour is claiming a number of things about Star Wars Outlaws content that never got far into production. It has been over a year since the last content update with no more on the horizon and some fans that are still holding out hope will be disappointed to hear this new claim.
According to Twitter user @FivesWalker who has been posting various Star Wars leaks/rumours (with a couple being correct so far), the Star Wars Outlaws team had far bigger plans for their characters and players.
FivesWalker states Ubisoft had expected the title to be a lot more commercially successful. This is not new information as the French publisher had said this to investors following the game’s release. However, what’s new is a rumour about 6 planned DLCs before a sequel. Reports from a year ago told the tale of how a Star Wars Outlaws 2 was planned but never greenlit by Ubisoft. It never entered actual production. Massive Entertainment have been focusing on The Division 3 since then.
One of those planned packs would have been a “direct tie-in” to the novel, Low Red Moon, that released earlier this year. The prequel book exploring ND-5 and Jaylen’s relationship before the game has had rave reviews from fans.

Before the game came out, two Story Packs were confirmed and there was no talk of more at that time. Both DLCs did release and were well received by players. Due to this, fans wanted more of Kay, Nix and ND-5’s story in the form of more Story Packs or a sequel. If the game was a huge hit, it would make sense for Ubisoft to want to make more post-launch content. They have supported many of their games for several years as long as it made sense from a business perspective.
Despite getting some information right about Maul – Shadow Lord, this Twitter account still has a track record to prove so we’ll just have to take their word for these extra Star Wars Outlaws DLCs with a grain of salt for now.
Star Wars Outlaws Is Loved
As time has gone on, Star Wars Outlaws has been purchased by a far larger amount of people compared to its launch. The game has seen huge growth in sales and positive reviews thanks in part to the fantastic Nintendo Switch 2 port. It has also been added to Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Catalog this year leading to at least half a million Xbox users checking it out in its first month.
The sentiment around the game changed in a timely manner and has continued to grow a community that adore it. For some Star Wars fans, they say this is their favourite Star Wars game of all time. If you have yet to explore its open-world galaxy, you should not delay. It does feel like Ubisoft shutdown chances of a sequel prematurely.
