All of the abilities found in MONOPOLY: Star Wars Heroes vs Villains have been revealed as the game launches. Plus, you can learn about what combos to use when you play the game.
The latest project from developer Behavior Interactive and publisher Ubisoft will see fan-favourite Star Wars characters from the prequel, original trilogy and sequel eras battle it out. This is not just a typical Monopoly reskin but rather a new version of the game with some Star Wars-only twists. In one area this game differs are the character abilities. We’ll be taking a look at them and what they do.
There is a total of 28 iconic Star Wars characters (14 heroes and 14 villains) and all come with one game-changing ability. There are 14 in total as each hero and villain share an ability.
According to Senior Line Designer Lola Guilldou, the abilities were “distributed equally between both teams to balance the game better”. The developer tells XBOX Wire that “This gives each player equal footing when planning their team of Heroes and Villains and strategizing a counterplay against their opponent.”

- Add Luke Skywalker/Darth Vader to call in an NPC to affect a location within 3 tiles and Master Yoda/Emperor Palpatine to upgrade a location twice in one turn.
Win Battles:
- Make Mace Windu/Asajj Ventress your cornerstone character, enabling one extra die throw for allies.
- Add Chewbacca/Reva or Rey/General Grievous to trigger extra Battle opportunities.
Board movement and triggering Go Events:
- Make Rose Tico/Captain Phasma your cornerstone character to immediately purchase and roll up to 3 movements dice.
- Add Finn/Boba Fett to move 2 tiles in either direction, or add Chewbacca/Reva to advance to next opponent (this will trigger a Battle).

- Make Bo-Katan Kryse/Count Dooku your cornerstone character, allowing you to send a random opponent to jail for 300 credits.
- Add Han Solo/Aurra Sing to your team, allowing you to access the Cantina from your current position. From the Cantina, you can purchase an option to send a player to jail.
