Star Wars Galactic Racer is shaping up to be quite exciting game for Star Wars fans. From the return of iconic podracing characters to all new action packed racing mechanics and locations, there is a lot to discover. Now for the first time outsider opinions are here.
A number of Star Wars content creators and journalists were invited to play the game early recently. Now they have been given the green light to go and share their hands-on impressions.
Star Wars gaming YouTuber AZZATRU reveals that the vehicles feel “responsive” and wrecking others feels “really satisfying” . Star Wars fans keen to get immersed in this pocket of the galaxy will be pleased to hear there will be spaces to walk around in third person and interactive with various characters. It sounds like the game has far more depth than you’d expect.
There’s also new gameplay showing races, customization the first time and more in the video below.
On a technical level, the renowned Digital Foundry praise the prowess of the Fuse Games engineers who are delivering a stunning game running at 1440p at 60FPS on PS5. There is no quality 30FPS mode, it is a fluid 60 frames per second (most of the time) complete with UE5’s Lumen tech for high fidelity visuals wherever you race.
Kotaku say in their reporting that the game “blew them away”. Meanwhile VGC tells readers they are “thrilled” with the game in the limited hands-on. BBC’s Top Gear said Galactic Racer “is simply an excellent racing game, and one that just happens to be set in a different galaxy…”
From the selection of previews released, those that were already excited for the game are feeling pleased their expectations have been met or exceeded. Others who were a little more sceptical are now quite impressed. With so much positivity coming out of the game’s first previews, this should certainly give a boost to fans who have been waiting for a Star Wars racing game for over two decades.
