The Force continues to be strong with the Star Wars Battlefront 2 community. New content, features and more are coming to the game via Kyber and Battlefront+. The new launcher for Battlefront 2 has now hosted nearly one million games and over three million sessions; a staggering feat for a community driven platform.
We are going to be taking a look at everything that is live right now in-game with the May update. Plus, images of just some of the plethora of content coming to the game later this summer have also been released. There is a lot to get to and a lot to be excited about.
To kick off a month of Resurgence, the Kyber team detailed in a blog post all the new content now live on their 24/7 Conquest or Galactic Assault servers. This is the latest update made to the official modpack of Kyber, Battlefront+. Below is all of the new content added to the game and playable right now:
New Content
Here are some of the big highlights taken from the patch notes:
- Fusion Cutter
A new support Star Card for Officers to repair vehicles, turrets, and objectives. - C-PH Patrol Speeder
A fast, agile speeder to be used by the Empire on Tatooine in Galactic Assault and Supremacy. - Riot Control Trooper’s Riot Shield
The Riot Control Trooper now replaces its off-hand weapon with a dedicated Riot Shield to block incoming fire. - Expanded Vehicle Support Across Maps
Vehicles such as TIE Striker and U-Wing have been added to additional maps and modes like Scarif. These vehicles have also gained improvements to their combat effectiveness. - New Din Djarin Skin
A full-caped Beskar appearance replaces the default appearance, just in time for The Mandalorian and Grogu‘s release this month. - Trooper and Weapon Rebalance
Extensive attachment updates, stat tuning, and consistency improvements across all classes. - Reinforcement and Hero Updates
Adjustments to abilities, balance, and progression to improve clarity, performance, and gameplay flow. - Stability and Bug Fixes
Fixes for crashes, UI issues, spawning problems, and multiple gameplay inconsistencies.
Future Content
Kyber Update
One of the most if not most requested feature demanded by players is a party function in Kyber. This would allow you and your friends to squad up easily no matter the server. The Kyber team have been listening and hard at work on feature requests.
A Party System it’s coming to Kyber this month. Whilst no release date has been confirmed at this moment in time, it won’t belong before you’ll get your hands on it. Some working progress images of this new Party System were released. Also coming in May is a Incremental Downloads system. This will remove the need to download the entirety of a mod pack when only a few files have been changed in updates.
Battlefront+ Update
A number of new reinforcements, skins and more will be coming to Kyber via Battlefront+ later this summer. More information on Battlefront+ updates will come soon but for now, a preview of this content can be found below:
