A new sales and revenue estimate for Star Wars Zero Company has been reported following mixed launch across PC and consoles. The game caught fire a day days after launch thanks to strong reviews and word of mouth. Whilst it had some negative reviews over performance issues, it did not stop fans showing up to buy the game.
We covered a sales report last week that had it earning around $30m from its first week on sale (approx. 850,000 copies). The game’s budget is reportedly $50m. Since then, fans have been wondering if the game continued to sell well or did purchases fall off a cliff? The good news is it has shifted more copies and might allow for developers to return from furlough.
According to Alinea Analytics, Star Wars Zero Company has now surpassed 1 million copies sold. In terms of platform breakdown, 69.9% of copies sold were on Steam, 19.9% on PS5 and 10.2% on XBOX. This isnt much of a surprise given the recent charts data we took a look at. The report does not include the EA App or Epic Games Store copies sold either so the number should be higher.
Star Wars Zero Company Revenue

Revenue is the important one. These copies sold have the game earning $49.8m which is $200,000 shy of its budget. It is also key to note the revenue does not take off Valve/XBOX/PlayStation’s 30% platform fee, Epic’s Unreal fees and more. This means the game has not made enough to pay EA back for its funding yet.
Alinea also report that it had a very high peak concurrent player count. On August 30th, it achieved its all-time peak of over 340,000 players across all platforms; impressive. Meanwhile 90% of customers are based in North America and just less than 5% in Asia. Here’s some fun facts about audience crossover from Alinea:
On PlayStation and Xbox
- 32% had previously played XCOM 2
- 63% of Zero Company players on PlayStation have also played Jedi Fallen Order (85% on Xbox)
- 55% on PlayStation have played Jedi Survivor (68% on Xbox)
- 40% on PlayStation played Star Wars Outlaws (45% on Xbox)
On Steam
- 28% of Zero Company players had previously played XCOM 2
- 6% played XCOM: Enemy Unknown on Steam
- 32% played Star Wars: The Old Republic
- 24% played Battlefront 2
- 24% played Fallen Order
In other ZCOM news, the developers discuss whether they could bring the game to more platforms one day.
