Star Wars gaming has no short of a checkered past; the up’s and downs of cancellations and promises of games such as Star Wars Eclipse (Quantic Dream) and the KOTOR Remake (Saber Interactive) have fans skeptical of when the medium will return to the once trending success of its past.
However, amidst the many great video game releases of 2026, Bit Reactor’s Star Wars: Zero Company and Fuse Games’ Star Wars: Galactic Racer have received two of the highest scores by critics of any Star Wars game in previous years – even beating Respawn Entertainment’s Jedi: Survivor and Jedi: Fallen Order. Metacritic scores include an eighty five for Zero Company and eighty eight for Galactic Racer.

Set to release on October 6th, 2026, Star Wars Galactic Racer debuts with an eighty eight (#5 all time) Metacritic score – making it the best rated Star Wars video game behind the likes of greats such as Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (89), Rogue Squadron II (90): Rogue League, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II (91), and Knights of the Old Republic (93). Though a more niche genre of game in racing, Galactic Racer has proven through early reviews that it deserves to be among the franchise’s best titles.
Star Wars Battlefront II Still Going Strong…
Despite the continued support of DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront II (2017) ending in April of 2020 with the Scarif Update, community teams and members still uphold the game through consistent creations. The dedicated fanbase still clings on to the hope that we may see a third installment of the series; breaking the now-known curse of a third battlefront.
Recent announcements from the Kyber development team tell of a large update to the Kyber Launcher coming October 9th, 2026. Talented groups of developers continue to give fans new updates of characters the player base wanted from DICE originally among other features.
Star Wars Battlefront II currently sits at a seventy five percent discount on Steam.

Cal Kestis’s Story Will Continue
The Jedi series by Respawn Entertainment is no stranger to the spotlight. Both installments Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor were well received and while a third game is currently in development, Cal Kestis’s story continues to expand through different mediums. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is estimated to have made one hundred and eighty six million via Steam Sales since its launch in November of 2019. The game currently sits at a discount of eighty percent on Steam, while its sequel, Jedi: Survivor received an eighty five percent discount on Steam; giving new players a lower entry fee into discovering Cal Kestis’s story. If you were ever interested in what Respawn Entertainment has to offer, there has never been a better time to hop in!
