We have the latest streaming numbers for Star Wars The Mandalorian and Grogu on Disney+.
Last month saw the release on digital and physical media and the first week of this month had it drop on Disney+, the home of The Mandalorian. Now we have updated data for how it’s doing on Disney’s home streaming service. This latest data was collected from September 7th through 13th.
According to Nielsen via The Hollywood Reporter, the film was the third most streamed film during its second week on Disney+. It dropped one place with Netflix’s Why Did I Get Married Again? pushing it down. Mando and Grogu received 366 million minutes streamed. This is down basically 50% from the 727 million minutes in the prior week. That’s quite a significant drop off.
The first reporting week of data also only used its first 4 days out on Disney+ as it dropped on September 2nd and Nielsen began reporting from August 31st. This latest collection was an entire week.
It also is no longer in the top 10 most streamed original movie/series combined list. During its first week on Disney+, the Jon Favreau directed flick was 10th but has now exited the top 10. Tenth place had 676m meaning it is nowhere near the top several films/shows.
The Disney+ release comes with IMAX ratio scenes and sound. That’s the first for a Star Wars film. However it won’t materialise into a lot more viewers.
