The Force continues to be strongest with Star Wars video games… Star Wars Galactic Racer reviews are in and fans will be celebrating like they’ve won the Boonta Eve Classic.
On Friday, reviews were published for the debut title from Fuse Games and publisher Secret Mode’s biggest release yet. The teams behind this blistering fast game were clearly confident given that the review embargo dropped a few days before release rather than the typical 1-2 days prior to launch.
Galactic Racer has achieved a Metacritic rating of 88 from 34 reviews on PS5. From 6 XBOX reviews it is sitting at 86 and 82 on PC from 7 critics. On Open Critic, Galactic Racer has a rating of 88. Reviewers generally praised both the incredible gameplay and and innovative runs-based singleplayer and multiplayer modes. This is the Star Wars racing game you’ve been waiting for.
The PS5 Metacritic score makes it the joint 4th highest rated Star Wars game of all time. It ties with Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and comes just behind the original KOTOR, Dark Forces 2 and Rogue Squadron 2. It has even outscored both of Respawn’s best selling Jedi games.
For comparison, Survivor got an 85 rating and it’s prequel is down at 79. It also came in just ahead of Star Wars Zero Company which ended up being rated as the 5th highest scoring Star Wars game ever. Based on these reviews, this game is going to be a beloved title for many years to come.
