Star Wars Jedi 3 is about to get its blockbuster reveal and it is not too far away from release. That’s according to the ever reliable Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier.
Off the back of his reporting on how Star Wars Battlefront 3 is still yet to enter actual development, he has followed up on a number of questions that gamer’s have on Respawn’s final instalment in their trilogy. As we know, Respawn will be co-developing Battlefront 3 with DICE but first they need to get their current project out of the door.
A BlueSky follower of Schreier’s asked him about Star Wars Jedi 3’s place in all of this. The journalist responded by saying that “Jedi 3 is far in development; Battlefront 3 hasn’t even started yet”. Whilst unsurprising after work began on the game in early Summer 2023, it is good to hear that we won’t have to wait too long to get our hands on it. It seems possible that it will be out in 2027.
Another question about the state of Respawn’s upcoming title prompted Schreier to provide info on when it will be publicly unveiled. The reporter reiterates that the game is still on its way but also that it should be “officially announced soon”.
When Will Jedi 3 Be Revealed
When could this be? Let’s speculate. Star Wars Jedi Survivor got its reveal trailer at The Game Awards in 2022. It was officially announced at Celebration in April of that year. Given that we’re just over a month away from The Game Awards, it seems fairly likely that the game will make its visual debut at the event.
Will this just be a CG trailer? If nothing comes before that it seems likely. Unless EA go for a CG teaser later in November followed by a full reveal in December. Star Wars Outlaws had its CG trailer drop 1 day before a gameplay showcase so it isn’t entirely known for a Star Wars title to do this.
There’s a big, immovable object called GTA VI coming out in 3 weeks. Marketing across the board for video games is quickly coming to a halt to let the biggest game ever come out and swallow all the media attention. Perhaps EA will choose a quieter day late in November to begin showing us the final part of Cal’s journey.
